Elderly couple, security guard found murdered in UP

LUCKNOW: Three persons, including an elderly couple and a security guard, were found murdered in a village under Nigohan police station on Thursday, sending top cops in a tizzy.
Ram Sanehi (70) and his wife Ramjanki (65) of Udaipur village on Lucknow-Allahabad road were found murdered in their home, while the body of security guard Shatrughan (50) was found 200 metres away.
One of Sanehi’s sons lives in Delhi while two others Ram Narayan and Laxmi Narayan live separately in the same village.
ADG Lucknow zone, S N Sabat ruled out the possibility of loot and sexual assault on the woman. “The murders of the couple and security guard are not linked. Shatrughan was missing for two days,” he added.
IG Lucknow range Laxmi Singh said, “The couple’s maternal grandsons Vinay and Ajay had come to visit them from Rae Bareli. On getting no response, Vinay pushed the doors which opened in one attempt. They went inside and found their grandparents lying in a pool of blood. Their faces had been smashed.”
Ram Sanehi used to get Rs 2,000 pension and owned 3 bighas of land while the house was registered in Ramjanki’s name.
There are some weak links in statements of their sons and they are being interrogated, said Singh.
Police were busy in probe when some villagers came and informed about Shatrughan’s body.
Probe revealed Shatrughan’s wife was having an affair and did not report that he was missing, the IG said.
