Benaulim MLA and NCP leader Churchill Alemao and his wife who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week have been discharged from Manipal Hospital where they had been admitted on Friday. They have however been advised to undergo home quarantine for ten days.
In a press statement issued by the MLA on Friday evening, Alemao informed of the development while also thanking the doctors, nurses and staff as well as the Chief Minister and ministers.
“I and my wife along with my family are greatly relieved that the Manipal Hospital doctors have discharged me and advised us to home quarantine for the next 10 days. Our special thanks to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for all his help. I would also like to place on record my sincere gratitude to all other ministers, MLAs, ex-MLAs, my dear people from Benaulim and Navelim constituency and people from all over Goa, and overseas, AIFF and GFA and all those who time and again have been inquiring about my health and keeping me in their prayers,” he said while also thanking Dr Shekar Salkar, Dr Amol Mahaldar, Dr Oscar Rebello, Dr Misha, Dr Dhaneshri Kamat, Dr Joysana Moraes, Dr Neefa Fernandes, Dr Henrique and other doctors, nurses and staff members of Manipal Hospital.
Alemao and his wife had tested positive for the virus earlier this week and were admitted to the hospital on doctor’s advice. They later received plasma therapy at the hospital and were discharged on Friday. He also took to thank God, Our Lady of Vailankanni as well as the Archbishop, priests, nuns and the religious and also thanked and asked for prayers for a full recovery to get back to work.
