More than 1.2 million new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in India in August, higher than the previous month. Corona cases recorded this month are the highest in any country. On Thursday, 69,000 new cases of the corona were reported and 986 patients died in the country.
According to the data received from the state government, 12,07,539 cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in August (till 20th). As of July, there were 11,09,444 cases of coronavirus in the country. At the same time, in August this figure has crossed 12 lakhs. As of 19 August, the US is at number two with 9,94,863 cases. Brazil ranks third with 7,94,115 cases. On Thursday, 69,317 new cases have been reported in the country, of which the total caseload is more than 29 lakh. This is the highest number of infections reported in a day after Wednesday. On Wednesday, 70,101 cases were reported. On Thursday, the number of dead was 989. Once again the highest number of cases were reported in Maharashtra. 14,492 cases of corona infection were reported here. This was the first time that Kovid-19 cases in the state crossed 14 thousand.
Apart from Maharashtra, more than a thousand cases were registered in eight other states. Cases of 3,197 were reported in West Bengal, 1,741 in Punjab, 1,175 in Gujarat, 1,142 in Madhya Pradesh, 1,016 in Chhattisgarh, 996 in Haryana, 554 in Puducherry and 126 in Meghalaya. On Thursday, cases of Kovid-19 in Andhra Pradesh crossed the 3,000 mark while 95 people lost their lives due to the virus.
