Karnataka KCET Results 2020 LIVE UPDATES: In just 21 days after the examination, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) released the result for the Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2020 today.As many as 1.75 lakh students appeared in the CET exams held on July 30 and 31. The candidates can check their results at the websites- kea.kar.nic.in, karresults.nic.in. The result are available at 12:30 pm.

Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan said that the counselling process will be held online this year considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The seat matrix ratio will also remain the same as it was last year. “While the 45:30:25 ratio will be continued, the government’s share will be 45 per cent, COMED-K and NRI/Management quota will share 30 and 25 per cent respectively,” officials clarified.

Unfilled seats!

The managements have been directed to return unfilled seats within the prescribed time. According to Deputy CM C N Ashwathnarayan, “These will be given back to the colleges within 24 hours of duration, making the process faster and easier for students."

Seat-matrix ratio to remain same

Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan said that the fees and the seat-matrix ratio will remain the same as it was for the academic year 2019-2020. “There will be no hike in fees in view of the prevailing COVID-19 and flood situation in the state. Besides this, the seat-sharing ratio would also be continued as in the previous year and representatives of all the associations have agreed to this,” he informed.

Those who clear KCET will have to participate in the counselling process. There will be to rounds of counselling which will be held after the NEET and JEE counselling. The exact dates of counselling are not out yet.

How many students appeared in KCET

Around 1.95 lakh candidates appeared in the CET exams held on July 30 and 31. According to statistics shared by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, the Physics paper was attended by 1,75,428 candidates (90.23 per cent of those enrolled) while 1,75,337 (90.10 per cent) attended the Chemistry test. The same for Biology and Mathematics, on Thursday, was 79.90 per cent and 91.92 per cent respectively

KCET result releasing today

The KCET 2020 result will be declared today. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released on Thursday, August 20. Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan said in an official statement, “The results of the CET exam, which was due to be announced on August 20 will now be announced on August 21 (Friday) due to technical reasons.” The Minister, also in charge of Higher Education, added that the results will be made available to the public at 12.30 pm at the official website, karresults.nic.in

According to statistics shared by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, the physics paper was attended by 1,75,428 candidates (90.23 per cent of those enrolled) while 1,75,337 (90.10 per cent) attended the chemistry test. The same for biology and mathematics was 79.90 per cent and 91.92 per cent respectively.

Explaining the fee structures, Deputy CM said, “In one of the compositions, it has been decided to fix a fee of is Rs. 65,360 for CET students and Rs. 1,43,748 for COMED-K students. In another composition, for CET students it would be Rs. 58,808 and RS. 2,01,960 for COMED-K students.”
