Guntur Round Table distributes books to poor children

GUNTUR: Promising that Guntur Round Table (GRT-86) is committed to extend fullest support to the under-privileged children studying in the government schools, GRT Chairman Lanka Kranti Sekhar has said that they have lined up several charity works for the next few months.
He said that it was heartening that many young business leaders who are part of the GRT are keen to take part in the service activities. GRT members distributed books and stationery to the school children at municipal high school in Swarnandhra Nagar in the city on Friday. He said that their members Surendra Sriram, B Bhargavi took the entire cost of the books distributed to the children.
GRT senior member Ramkumar and ladies circle leader Silpa said that many of their members were enthusiastically joining the service activities by sparing funds. They said that GRT members despite busy with their own business enterprises were extending financial support to the charity works. School principal Rajyalakshmi played key role in bringing the children to the school to receive the gifts from the GRT members.
About 350 sets of books were distributed to the children from class-I to VII. "It was happy moment for us to spare funds for the distribution of books to the children from the slum area. It has brought the festival a day in advance," said the sponsors Surendra Sriram and Bhargavi. Ladies circle chairperson Lanka Chaitanya Priyadarshni was also present.
