He was only one year old when his father was martyred after encountering the dacoits of the Jungle Party. When he grew up, he listened to his father's heroics, and he also decided to join the police. Three years ago, he was recruited as a constable in UP Police and is now posted at Ramkola police station in Kushinagar district.
The day became memorable for this constable involved in the encounter on Thursday. A few months after the formation of the Kushinagar district, there was an encounter between police and jungle dacoits on the night of 30 August 1994 in the Bansi river near Pachrukhia of Kubersthan police station area. Six policemen, including the encounter specialist of the district, Daroga Anil Kumar Pandey, were killed in that encounter.
One of those police personnel was Vishwanath Yadav. Vishwanath Yadav's son Ravish is also a policeman of UP police. Ravish Yadav was also involved in the encounter with criminals in front of Pagan Chapra village of Ramkola police station area on Thursday.
Describing Thursday day as very special for himself, Ravish said that his father was only one year old when he was martyred. At the age of going to school, he came to know that the miscreants had taken away the father's love from him, since then he had a strong desire that he too would join the police and wipe out the criminals. After wearing a police uniform in 2017, Thursday was the first time he took part in an encounter with criminals and successfully caught two crooks.
