More than 100 homes in south Wales have been left without power after a weather warning for high wind from Storm Ellen.

Western Power Distribution said it had reconnected 323 homes in Nelson, Caerphilly county, on Friday morning.

The company said it aimed to reconnect 175 homes in Monmouthshire and 63 in the Vale of Glamorgan by 08:00 BST.

The M48 Severn Bridge is closed in both directions and a 30mph speed limit is in place on the A55 Britannia Bridge to Anglesey due to high winds.

Transport for Wales said rail services between Holyhead and Bangor were running at reduced speed due to "severe weather", and that disruption was possible on all routes until 15:00.

There are seven flood warnings in place for coastal areas of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire as spring tides coincide with stormy seas.
