Genesis has the GV80 on display at the Studio Sydney and Parramatta Test Drive Center in Australia ahead of the model’s local launch that’s set for October.

When it finally goes on sale, the brand’s first SUV will be offered in four versions, with rear- or all-wheel drive, three powertrains, seating for five or seven and the optional Luxury Package.

Pricing will start at AU$90,600 (US$65,532) for the base 2.5T, which packs a 300 HP (304 PS / 224 kW) and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) turbo-four petrol engine hooked up to an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Standard gear across the range includes the 14.5-inch infotainment system, leather upholstery, wood trim, panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, 20-inch alloy wheels and a generous host of safety systems, from the blind spot monitor to the lane keep assist, safe exit assist, smart cruise control and surround view monitor.

The 2.5T AWD adds an all-wheel drive system and increases the number of seats from five to seven with the addition of a third row. This variant will set buyers back at least AU$95,600 (US$69,148).

The 3.0D AWD brings a straight-six turbodiesel with 273 HP (277 PS / 204 kW) and 434 lb-ft (588 Nm) and is priced from AU$103,600 ($74,935), whereas the 3.5T AWD packs the new 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged petrol unit that puts out 374 HP (379 PS / 279 kW) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) and has a AU$108,600 (US$78,551) starting price.

The two flagship models add an adaptive suspension, electro-mechanical limited-slip differential and 22-inch alloy wheels shod in 265/40 Michelin tires.

The entire GV80 range can be enhanced with matte paint finishes (from AU$2,000 – US$1,447), and the AU$10,000 (US$7,233) Luxury Package that features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Nappa leather, three-zone climate control, 18-way power adjustable driver’s seat with massage function, soft-close doors and additional active safety systems.
