PATIALA: The district on Thursday reported 164 new Covid-19 cases that included four healthcare workers and 10 cops, taking the coronavirus tally to 4,411.
Officials said two new micro-containment zones had been established in the district.
The officials said that with five more Covid-related fatalities, the district's toll rose to 98. The district now has 1,457 active cases, while 2,856 people have been cured.
Patiala civil surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said that among the new
Covid cases, 83 were reported from Patiala block, 21 from Rajpura, 25 from Nabha, 12 from Samana and 23 from different villages of the district.
Meanwhile, Ropar also saw 38 new coronavirus cases during the day, taking district's tally to 621 of which 204 are active cases while 407 patients have been cured. The district has so far reported 10 Covid-related deaths.
Fatehgarh Sahib reported 31 fresh cases of coronavirus infection during the day, taking district's tally to 800 of which 521 have been cured, 15 have died and 264 are active cases.
