Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that during the transition of Corona, the state government had no shortage in fulfilling its resolve to 'sleep no hunger', as well as saving the life and meeting the livelihood challenge.


Shri Gehlot was addressing the Chief Minister's residence through video conference after the inauguration and foundation stone of the buildings of 37 medical institutions of medical education. He inaugurated and laid foundation stones of around Rs 300 crore. It includes the inauguration of 29 buildings and the foundation stone of eight construction works.

He said that we will do our utmost to ensure that no one is killed by the corona in the state. For this, more and more testing is being done. The aim of the state government is to make Rajasthan the head of health in the entire country. Shri Gehlot said that our dream is that no person from the state should go out for treatment. During our last tenure, the Free Drug Scheme and Free Screening Scheme were introduced to strengthen the health infrastructure. At the time of the onset of corona infection, the region had zero testing facility of the corona. Today, more than 40 thousand testing facilities have been developed, which will reach 50 thousand in the future.

He said that it has been successful in treating 50 patients in the state with plasma therapy. Shri Gehlot said that in the last one year, 15 districts have got medical colleges, including these will become 31 medical colleges in the state sector.

Shri Gehlot said that Rajasthan has moved ahead in the field of medicine. Compared to Corona, our management has been appreciated nationwide. We have kept the mortality rate from the corona quite under control and outperformed other states on all parameters.

Shri Gehlot said that Corona has got the full support of the representatives of all parties, religious leaders, social workers, Bhamashahs, government machinery, and the public in this battle. During the lockdown, the government has given relief to poor, helpless, and needy people by transferring Rs 3500-3500 to their accounts.
