Three months’ waiver of property tax, water bills in Bhiwandi

MUMBAI: The Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNMC) on Wednesday decided to give a waiver of property and water bills for three months.
Taking into account the financial burden on Bhiwandi residents amid the lockdown, the civic body has taken the decision. The decision was taken by Mayor Pratibha Patil at an online meeting held on Wednesday.
Patil said, “Most of the residents live in slums and work as daily wage labourers, who have lost their jobs. We have taken the decision to provide financial relief to such people.”
