A stalker who terrified his ex girlfriend by contacting her 2,450 times and threatening to kill her has today been jailed for 10 months.

Ryan Bradley also grabbed Zoe Jones round the throat and assaulted her.

Mold Crown Court heard that he had turned up at her house and then refused to leave, banged on her windows and doors and even spat at, kicked her and poured beer over her in a humiliating ordeal at a Rhyl nightclub.

The 25-year-old, of Penryhn, Holywell, Flintshire, admitted three charges of stalking involving fear and violence, stalking and assault by beating.

Prosecuting Ryan Rothwell said the two had a short term relationship which ended around Christmas 2018, however Bradley didn't accept the split and started stalking her.

He bombarded her with phone calls and messages sent on social media, some with threatening messages including "I'm going to find you no matter where you are. I'm going to kill you" and "I'm never giving up."

The court heard In April 2019 he waited for her outside her home, threatened to kill her, put his hands around her throat and spat in her face.

During another incident later that month he visited her home address again and threatened to kill her. She called for help and a neighbour came round.

Bradley then intercepted her at a gym and waited outside her house all night, knocking on her windows.

In May 2019 he caught up with her again in Rhyl and assaulted her by grabbing her hair, kicking her, biting her ear and spitting in her face.

Later that month he was waiting for her when she arrived home, burst in, threw eggs inside and then dragged her down the garden path until her neighbour intervened again.

When Ms Jones went to drop a key off on May 27 2019, Bradley dragged her inside his home and would not let her leave.

The court heard Ms Jones had an "on/off" relationship with Bradley at the time and she had been trying to "appease him".

Then in March 2020 he saw her in a Rhyl nightclub and tipped beer over her, threw more alcohol in her face and later threw coins at her.

"She was terrified," said Mr Rothwell who said Ms Jones then started to fear his threats would materialise.

Defending Alun Williams said Bradley had no previous convictions, had been fully employed since 2014 and references painted a very different picture of him.

"He is generally a person who does not act in an anti-social manner," said Mr Williams.

Reading a statement to the court, Ms Jones said: "I tried every way to reason with you, I didn't want anything bad to happen to you, but I hope you have learned how serious this is."

She added: "I forgive you and I only want what's best for you."

The Judge, Mr Recorder John Philpotts, sentenced Bradley to 10 months in prison - nine months for the charge of stalking with fear and violence and a month for the charge of assault by beating and stalking charges.

He also handed the defendant an indefinite restraining order and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge.

Sentencing Bradley, Mr Philpotts said: "Your culpability is high. It took place over a long period of time and was calculated to cause harm to Ms Jones."
