NEW DELHI: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will put an end to the wait of nearly 2 lakh candidates tomorrow by announcing the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) results 2020. Earlier, the KCET result was scheduled to be announced on Thursday i.e., August 20, which has now been postponed to Ausgut 21.
The department of higher education cited “technical reasons” for the delay. The results will be available on http://karresults.nic.in from 12.30 pm. A press conference will be held by the minister for higher education at 11 am, said a release from the department.
Karnataka deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan on Monday announced that the KCET result would be announced on August 20. KEA will release the KCET 2020 results through the official website of KEA — cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.
This year, as many as 1,84,368 candidates have appeared for the KCET 2020 conducted on July 30 and 31, in 497 centers. Over 1800 candidates from neighbouring states took part in the KCET examination. The authorities had provided transportation and other logistical support to students as well as their accompanying parents. The authorities had accommodated 40 students who were Covid positive to appear for the exam and special arrangements were made for them.
This year, the exam got delayed due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The exam was conducted by taking measures — social distancing norms, use of hand sanitisers, and temperature of candidates were checked using a thermal gun. Candidates who travelled from other states to appear for CET exam were exempted from quarantine norms.
KEA will hold counselling and verification of documents online this year. Students will be allowed to complete the admission process from their home itself.
KEA conducts KCET for the admission to engineering, technology, yoga & naturopathy, farm science courses, B.Pharm, and Pharm-D courses.
