Teenager who knocked a schoolgirl's front teeth in a brutal bashing at McDonald's during a months-long crime spree is set to be released from youth detention

A teenager who bashed a schoolgirl at McDonald's and drunkenly attacked a taxi driver is set to be released from detention.
The 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been on six month crime spree across Adelaide before being put into youth detention by police.
She was taken into custody in February after a fast food fracus which was so brutal she concussed the 13-year-old girl and left her with memory loss and spinal injuries.
But she will be released from jail immediately, after pleading guilty to the string of offences which took place between December 2019 and May 2020.

She was sentenced to six months youth detention, suspended after five months after appearing at the Adelaide Youth Court on Friday.
Magistrate Luke Davis condemned the girl's behaviour which resulted in wide-spread media coverage at the time, but had ordered her immediate release from detention, ABC news reported.
'You were a wild, dangerous and angry young woman,' he said.
'Your vicious and cowardly attack in broad daylight in a public venue, where families go to simply enjoy themselves, has caused alarm and outrage within the community.
'The community at large is shocked that someone so young could inflict such an injury.'
The teenager also assaulted a stranger at Rundle Mall in December after her friend got into an argument which turned physical.
Two months later she confronted the 13-year-old schoolgirl at McDonald's, claiming the girl had posted racial comments about her on social media.

She pulled the girl to the ground by her hair and punched her while a friend kicked her in the face.
A video of the attack was then published on social media to the horror of her friends and family.
The magistrate dismissed excuses the assault was retaliation after racist comments were published about the attacker on social media, reported 7 News.

When she was on bail awaiting sentencing to the assault she also drunkenly assaulted a taxi-driver at Evanston with two friends before stealing the taxi for a joy ride.
The trio hit the 20-year-old driver over the head with a beer bottle then took off, drunk-driving 200km to Berri where they were arrested by police.
Magistrate Davis told the girl he believed she was remorseful over the offences, and was actively working to get her life back on track.
He said she had 'stuffed up really badly' but because of her young age, it was important for her to know society hadn't given up on her.
Mr Davis' also took into account the teenager's lack of prior convictions and upbringing in sentencing.
