A man who digitally raped his intellectually impaired six-year-old granddaughter has been sentenced to just three years in jail.
The 65-year-old - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - will be eligible for parole on December 3, when considering time already served ahead of sentencing.
He pleaded guilty to one count of rape related to the November 2018 attack and apologised after initially denying the act, Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

He had been drinking prior to the assault and told her to 'shut up' when she complained, the court heard.
The little girl used to refer to him as 'pop'.

His defence said he was 'disgusted' in the behaviour and disappointed with himself.

The court also heard that he'd been excommunicated from most of his family since the offending.
While a report suggested he was a 'low risk' of re-offending, Judge Catherine Muir disagreed.
'This is reprehensible offending. It is predatory and it was a breach of trust committed by you on your young, intellectually impaired granddaughter,' she said.
'Your offending, unsurprisingly, has had a destructive effect on the complainant and on your family.'
