Saint Lucia government has lengthened the first phase of its tourism reopening, the country’s official said this week.

This island nation reopened its tourism in early June 2020 and has extended its phase one of reopening process until Sept. 30, highlighting the “risks associated with this phase.”

At present, Saint Lucia is pre-testing all visitors to the island. Also, they are required to stay on the grounds of their hotels.

Saint Lucia Tourism Minister Dominica Fedee mentioned that as the first phase has been extended, the Ministry of Tourism “is exploring options to add additional attractions and restaurants, so as to boost foreign exchange circulation within the local economy.”

The second phase of tourism would comprise the reopening of the diving sector, simultaneously with other sites and attractions, along with Airbnb and villa properties as well.
