Abhay Kumar replaces Rohit as home secy in Rajasthan reshuffle

JAIPUR: The state government in a surprise move transferred additional chief secretary (home) Rohit Kumar Singh to the panchayati raj and rural development department. Principal secretary (planning and information technology) Abhay Kumar Singh has been moved to the home department. Generally, the home department has been handled by a senior officer at the level of ACS.
Abhay Kumar Singh will have home, jail, vigilance and transport. He has also been given additional charge of information and public relations department.
Rohit Kumar Singh was transferred to the home department only on July 3, exactly one-and-a-half months back in a major bureaucratic reshuffle in which the then chief secretary D B Gupta was replaced by Rajeeva Swarup in a routine reshuffle. Swarup was then handling the home department.
