Vadodara: Government pleaders’ terms extended for two years

VADODARA: The law department of the state government has extended the terms of district government pleader (DGP) of Vadodara and 15 other assistant government pleaders (AGP) and additional public prosecutors (APP) for two years.
The terms of government pleaders and public prosecutors were set to end on December 31 this year. However, with the new notification, the district government pleader Anil Desai and other AGPs and APPs including Ramesh Gianchandani, C G Patel, Atul Vyas, N U Makwana, H R Joshi, R S Chauhan, J M Kansara, Prakash Bhatt, Kiran Chavan, B S Purohit, P C Patel, H B Chauhan, Smruti Trivedi, Kapil Joshi and D J Nalierwala will continue till December 31, 2022.
Desai was appointed as DGP in January last year while others have been practicing as public prosecutors since before Desai’s appointment. With Desai’s appointment, a regular government pleader for Vadodara after three years.
