The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed the Mormugao mamlatdar to submit a survey report on encroachment of houses in Mormugao taluka to the state government within a month in order to initiate further course of action.
Chief Minister Sawant disclosed this to the media during a review meeting which he had convened at the mini auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan Baina with various government officials of Mormugao taluka on Wednesday afternoon. The Chief Minister also took stock of the COVID management in Mormugao taluka from the deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate Mormugao and other officials of the concerned departments. He also reviewed the various developmental works and projects which have remained pending for the last several years. The meeting was attended by Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, Mormugao municipal council chairperson Nandadeep Raut, deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate Mormugao Saiesh Naik, MMC chief officer Arvind Bugde, former chairperson of MMC Deepak Naik, deputy superintendent of police Vasco Raju Raut Dessai and others.
Speaking over the mining issue, the Chief Minister said, “The hearing into the mining with the apex court is scheduled on August 26 and the state government is hopeful of early commencement of mining activities in the state. We are trying our best at all possible levels for early resumption of mining.”
The Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Wednesday informed that the micro containment zones in Vasco will be denotified by August 20.
