Covid-19: 6 deaths, 114 new cases reported in Punjab's Patiala

PATIALA: In Patiala, 114 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, including five healthcare workers and two cops, taking the tally to 4,247 in the district. The officials said that six more deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 93 so far in the district, whereas 2,758 people have been cured and there are 1396 active cases.
Patiala civil surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said that among positive cases reported on Wednesday, 65 cases are from Patiala block, 15 from Rajpura, 10 from Nabha, eight from Samana and 16 from different villages of the district. He said so far 64,358 samples have been taken so far, of which 57,761 have tested negative while 2,200 reports were awaited. He said six patients who died on Wednesday were from Patiala city and all of them haveco-morbidity of either BP, or diabetes or kidney or cardiac ailments or breathing problems.
Similarly, in Sangrur, 60 more positive cases were reported on Tuesday late evening taking the tally to 1637 while two more died including a 40-year-old male and 67-year-old female of Longowal block who was admitted to Patiala government Rajindra hospital. The death toll has reached 58 so far. The officials said that 1270 have been cured so far while 309 are active cases whereas four patients are serious but none critical. They said 33824 samples have been taken for testing till date of which 31282 reported negative and 1142 reports were awaited.
In Fatehgarh Sahib, 47 more Covid positive cases were reported on Wednesday taking the tally to 769 and a 61-year-old woman of Mandi Gobindgarh died in private hospital Dera Bassi following which the toll reached to 15 whereas so far 498 patients have been recovered and 256 are active cases.
