NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher at 02:00PM (IST) on Wednesday.
Shares of Adani Transmissions (up 3.35 per cent), Tata Power Company (up 3.33 per cent), ABB India Ltd (up 2.39 per cent), CESC (up 2.32 per cent) and Adani Power (up 2.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Siemens (down 0.53 per cent), KEC International (down 0.18 per cent), NTPC (down 0.05 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India (down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.6 per cent up at 1634.83 around 02:00PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 65.70 points at 11451.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 239.41 points at 38767.73.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IRB Infra Dev, Atul Ltd, ABB Power Products, ITI Ltd and Birlasoft hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., B P Capital Ltd., Megastar Foods Ltd., Modulex Construction Technologies Ltd., N2N Technologies Ltd. and Libord Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
