A man from Sydney's upper north shore will appear in court accused of having nearly 2,000 images of child abuse material.
In May, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit began an investigation into the possession of child abuse material.
Strike Force Trawler detectives executed a search warrant a unit at Hornsby on July 28.

During the search, officers seized a mobile phone and tablet they allege contained nearly 2,000 images and videos of child abuse material.
A 37-year-old man was taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material using carriage service and two counts of possessing child abuse material.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by the CEIU into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
