A sharpshooter was nabbed from an Ahmedabad- based hotel in Gujrat last night by an Anti-Terrorist Squad. According to preliminary reports, the accused sharpshooter was in the city to murder BJP leader and former Minister of State for Home Gordhan Zadafia. According to sources, the accused was staying at Venus hotel on Relief Road of walled city in Ahmedabad. He had arrived at the hotel yesterday morning with a bag. His bag was checked by hotel staff but no weapon was found inside. When the Anti-Terrorist Squad and Crime Branch police reached the hotel late last night, the sharpshooter fired a shot, but the bullet hit only a wall.

The accused detained by the ATS has been identified as Iqbal Muhammad Rafiq. He belongs to Maharashtra as per his Aadhaar card produced in the hotel.
