KALYAN: Kalyan-Dombivli, under the Thane district of Maharashtra, which is the second worst area in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region after the state capital, on Wednesday crossed 25,000
Covid-19 cases.
The twin city reported fresh 361 Covid-19 patients and nine deaths taking total numbers to 25,231 including total 520 deaths so far.
The city on Wednesday also witnessed discharge of 427 patients making a recovery rate of 85 per cent with a total discharge of patients touching 21,519. The health department officials said at present 3,192 active patients are taking treatment at different Covid-19 hospitals and Covid care centres across the city.
The Kalyan-Dombivli on July 31 had reached 20,000-patients mark and it took 20 days for 5,000 patients more which is an average 250 patients in a day while earlier the twin city in July took only nine and 14 days to get 5,000 patients.
