Today, Supreme Court gave green-signal to a CBI probe in late actor Sushant Singh Rajput mysterious demise. The apex court ruled that FIR filed in Bihar was lawful and state govt is competent to request CBI probe. The Mumbai police have now been asked to hand over all evidence collected to the investigating agency. Fans, the family of SSR along with several Bollywood celebs took to social media to hail the SC's verdict. The court also ensured that there was no confusion about CBI being sole authority in the probe and that no other state police could interfere with it.
Supreme Court closes all options for Mumbai Police to probe Sushant Singh Rajput death case
Ordering a CBI probe into the matter, Justice Hrishikesh Roy said, "While according approval for the ongoing CBI investigation, if any other case is registered on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the surrounding circumstances of his unnatural death, the CBI is directed to investigate the new case as well."

When quizzed if the Mumbai Police will be conducting a parallel investigation, state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh responded saying "The state government will think as per paragraph 34 of the Supreme Court order."

Fans of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput burst crackers in Saharsa celebrating the Supreme Court's decision to have a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation in the case.
Earlier in the day, Sushant's brother-in-law had taken to social media to share a tweet along with a blog link where he called the late actor's 'the great Indian dream'. He wrote, "And this is what resonates with the public. Sushant and his family represent the aspirations of India. Sushant and his family represent self-reliance, hard work, economic progression; the great Indian dream. #CBIForSSR"
CBI to seek all evidence, electronic gadgets from Mumbai Police
According to top CBI sources, the agency will write to the Mumbai Police to share all the evidence it has collected in the probe.The CBI will seek details of the autopsy report, crime scene photographs from the Mumbai Police and the same will be shared with the forensic experts posted at CFSL. The sources said that the agency will demand the statements of all the persons whose statements were recorded in the last two months and the electronic devices of the late actor which are with the Mumbai Police.
Report: BMC says that if the CBI plans to stay in Mumbai for less than 7 days, they won't be put under quarantine. If they want to stay for more than 7 days, they'll have to seek an exemption.
Update: 2 top Mumbai cops to be examined and questioned by CBI SIT. While one officer is allegedly accused of staying in touch with prime suspect the second reportedly did not take the complaint of Sushant’s brother-in-law seriously.

"The records of the case produced before this court, does not prima facie suggest any wrongdoing by the Mumbai Police. However, their obstruction to the Bihar police team at Mumbai could have been avoided since it gave rise to suspicion on the bonafide of their inquiry," the bench said.

Supreme Court today announced that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will take over the probe of Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise on June 14. The Mumbai Police have been asked to hand over all evidence collected so far in the case to CBI, while the apex court also observed that the FIR in Patna, based on Sushant’s father’s complaint was correct. Agnihotri said, “Just after the judgment, I spoke to a Supreme Court lawyer he said SC took about a week to pass the judgment because they studied the entire Mumbai Police investigation and SC felt the direction of Mumbai police is not right otherwise there was everything in the legal framework was in favour of them and SC could’ve said let Mumbai police conduct the enquiry and finish it. But there was something missing or fishy and may be they were not going in the right direction and that is why SC has taken the decision and that confirms my case.”
