The SC also asked the Mumbai police to hand over all evidence it collected so far to the CBI.

In a major turn of event, the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday ordered a CBI probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and asked the Mumbai police to hand over all evidence it collected so far to the CBI.
The 34-year-old Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.
The single-judge bench of justice Hrishikesh Roy said that the FIR filed by Sushant Singh’s father in Bihar was correct and the Bihar government was competent to recommend transferring the case to the CBI.
Actor Rhea Chakraborty, Rajput’s girlfriend, had asked the apex court to transfer the FIR registered by his family in Patna to Mumbai.
“This is a victory for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. SC ruled on all points in our favour. The Court also clearly said that the FIR registered at Patna was correct,” said Vikas Singh, lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, after the SC verdict, as reported by ANI.
“Our family thanks the Supreme Court, and all those who were a part of this movement for justice. Now, we are certain that Sushant will get justice,” ANI reported Niraj Singh Babloo, Bihar BJP MLA & relative of Sushant Singh Rajput, as saying.
