Three-month waiver of property tax, water bills to Bhiwandi residents

BHIWANDI: In a major relief for residents of Bhiwandi city, the Bhiwandi-Nizampura City Municipal Corporation (BNMC) on Wednesday decided to give three months waiver of property tax and water bills.
The civic body, considering the financial burden on Bhiwandi residents due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, has taken the decision.
The decision was taken by mayor Pratibha Patil in a meeting held online on Wednesday.
Patil told TOI, "In city most people lives in slum and work as daily wage labourers who have lost their jobs. To provide such people some financial relief we have taken the decision."
