Chippa United and Highlands Park could not be separated as the sides played to a 0-0 draw at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The draw takes the Highlands back into the top eight above Arrows, although they have now played a game more than the KZN-based side.
Meanwhile, Chippa gave themselves some breathing space between them and Baroka FC in 13th position and are now three points above Bakgaga.
After recording a 1-0 loss to Cape Town City in their opening game, the Chilli Boys have now picked up their first point since the resumption after competitive football was halted for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Lions of the North have also now played twice since the resumption, picking up their second point here after drawing 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend.
Owen da Gama will be desperate for his side to gain a top-eight finish after doing brilliantly to achieve the feat last season in their debut campaign in the top-flight.
Highlands are now unbeaten in four fixtures against the Chilli Boys, winning two and drawing two.
Meanwhile, Chippa will be hoping for continuity, having hired and fired thirty coaches in the past 10 seasons and Rhulani Mokwena has the chance to fulfil the hype with the perennial relegation scrappers.
