27 new Covid-19 cases in Nilgiris

UDHAGAMANDALAM: The Nilgiris district reported 27 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, taking the total tally in the hill district to 1,083.
The district also reported a casualty on Monday. The 73-year-old woman from Anikorai village had tested positive a few days ago and was being treated at a government facility in Coimbatore. She died on Saturday night. Her husband, who also tested positive, is being treated at government headquarters hospital in Ooty. The couple is a contact of an earlier positive case – having travel history to Chennai - from the same village.
This is the tenth Covid death reported in the hill district so far. However, according to the government’s record, the district has recorded only four deaths.
