IPL 2020 has got its new title sponsor. Dream 11 received the title sponsorship of the IPL this year after VIVO was dropped from season 13. For this, Dream 11 will have to pay 222 crores. The contract with the new company will last only from 18 August to 31 December 2020. This time due to Corona, the IPL will be in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November. In the race to become the main sponsor of the IPL, the academy was Tata and Byju. The bid for Unacademy was 210 crores, Tata's 180 crores, and Byju's 125 crores. According to news, Dream 11 won the right to be the main sponsor of IPL 2020 based on its financial bid. The BCCI had reduced the amount of sponsorship to woo Indian-origin companies as compared to earlier. Earlier this amount was Rs 440 crore annually, but now the board has increased it to Rs 300 to 350 crore annually. However, Dream XI got this sponsorship for only Rs 222 crore.

Due to tensions with China, Chinese companies are being boycotted across the country. Due to this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently removed Chinese mobile company Vivo (VIVO) from the title sponsor of IPL. Vivo had a 5-year contract with IPL title sponsorship of Rs 2190 crore. The company used to give Rs 440 crore annually.

The contract was from 2018 to 2022. According to BCCI sources, they have ended the contract for a year with Vivo. It can also be extended from 2021 to 2023.
