“The sign of a true queen is that she holds respect for others as highly as her crown!”

But this might not always be true. Former beauty queen Brittany Nicole Poteet has been charged with two serious assaults. Prosecutors allege that Brittany attacked her ex boyfriend in April this year, by whipping him with a metal-buckle dog chain which left deep cuts on his back and also broke his nose. The 34-year-old has made news multiple times but for all the wrong reasons.

Poteet who now works as an HR consultant, events coordinator, also started a career as a female pro-wrestler for Kingdom Wrestling Entertainment. She shifted base to Australia in 2014 following a row of controversies after being crowned Miss Virginia USA. As per reports, post her win at Miss Virginia USA 2011 she posted a picture on Facebook caption 'Miss Alcoholic USA'. It didn't bode well for the pageant and for her professional behavior.

The Director of the Miss United States Organization, Chris Wilbur, told a source that, “Her character was not a good fit for the organization so we gave her the option to change or leave. She chose to leave.” As a result, she was stripped of her Miss Virginia title.

Brittany who has completed her bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering also has a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering. She belongs to a well-reputed family in America, her grandfather was the dean of faculties at one of America’s oldest universities - the Hampden-Sydney College and her grandmother is a legacy alumnus of the Virginia Commonwealth University, where her uncle is also a former dean of medicine.

Despite all this she lived life on her terms and was even accused of making homophobic slurs against her gay roommate few years ago. However, she denied the allegations, and said, 'The guy that's in my pageant office is gay and he's my best friend in the world, I talk to him every day.'

Even though Brittany recently pleaded not guilty to charges when she appeared in Burwood Local Court, all allegations have been adjourned until September.
