For all foreign tourists, Portugal has introduced its travel insurance scheme, in the middle of this pandemic.

This recent effort of the country has been promoted by RNA Seguros de Assistência. All interested persons can get detailed information online from -SchengenVisaInfo.com

Within this insurance scheme, medical, surgical, hospital and pharmaceutical expenses will be included which will be extended in the whole country.

To quote the organization “The objective is to guarantee, to all who visit Portugal that they can travel around the country, safe and with confidence.”
This initiative comes in an effort to revitalize its tourism sector, which has been massively affected by the pandemic.

In the world, Portugal is not the only country that is keen on guaranteeing safe holidays to its visitors. Authorities in Spain’s Canary Islands earlier this week have signed an insurance policy which makes sure that travelers, who selected the Atlantic archipelago, in case they get affected by the COVID-19 during their stay, will have all their expenses paid. In Spain, Canary Islands became the first of the 17 autonomous communities to introduce travel insurance for the tourists, which covers medical, quarantine and repatriation costs.

Portugal’s government in April 2020, supported the work of the European Commission, Member States and other European Union institutions together to find an ambitious European recovery plan, in a “spirit of unwavering solidarity”, to assist Europe from getting well from the harm caused by the virus.

Portugal declared new air traffic rules earlier this August, according to the Portuguese Government website.

The country declared that air traffic would remain open with countries in the European Union and the Schengen Zone along with the United Kingdom. According to the announcement, regular flights will restart with 12 countries outside the EU.
