Three MLAs expelled from Bihar's main opposition party RJD joined the ruling Janata Dal (United) in the state on Monday.

MLAs Maheshwar Prasad Yadav (Gaighat of Muzaffarpur), Prem Chaudhary (Patepur in Vaishali) and JD (U) state president Vashisht Narayan Singh and senior JDU leader and state energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav on Monday at JDU's state headquarters in Patna. Ashok Kumar Kushwaha (MLA from Sasaram in Rohtas district) joined JDU. It is noteworthy that the assembly elections in Bihar are to be held in October-November.

The RJD on Sunday also expelled Faraz Fatmi (MLA from Kewati assembly constituency in Darbhanga) for six years on charges of anti-party activities. Faraz was also scheduled to join the JDU along with other legislators today, but could not do so as he was out of town. Faraj is the son of former Union Minister Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi who is currently with JDU.
