Prabhas is all set to collaborate with filmmaker Om Raut for 3D action drama, Adipurush. After teasing his fans on Monday about a big announcement, the actor took to Instagram to share a poster of the Hindi-Telugu bilingual film. The tagline of the movie reads, “Celebrating the victory of good over evil.”
Sharing the poster, Prabhas wrote on Instagram, “Celebrating the victory of good over evil! #Adipurush @omraut @bhushankumar @vfxwaala @rajeshnair29 @tseriesfilms @retrophiles1 @tseries.official #TSeries.”
Bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Adipurush is an adaptation of the Indian epic that revolves around the triumph of good over evil. On a closer look at the poster, we see a silhouette of Lord Ram in the centre holding a bow and arrow, and a picture of a fierce Lord Hanuman in the background. It also has the ten heads of Ravana on it. And as the poster reveals, “Prabhas in and as Adipurush”, it is clear that the actor will essay the role of Lord Ram. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is also addressed as Adi Purusha.

Talking about Adipurush, Prabhas said in a statement, “Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.”
Om Raut, who recently directed Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, is planning to mount Adipurush on a large scale. The audience can expect some well-choreographed action sequences and unparalleled VFX work in the epic drama.
Expressing his excitement about the project, Raut shared, “I am grateful to Prabhas for accepting the part and my vision and Bhushanji for his unconditional support to realise my dream project. We embark on this journey with tremendous passion and pride and promise our audience an experience like never before.”
Adipurush will release in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and a few foreign languages. The makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast. Scheduled for a 2022 release, Adipurush will go on floors in 2021.
Apart from Adipurush, Prabhas also has the romantic drama Radhe Shyam and the Nag Ashwin film with Deepika Padukone in his kitty. While Radhe Shyam will see Prabhas romancing Pooja Hegde, the Prabhas-Deepika movie is being touted as another epic multilingual movie.
