  • Emergency services were called to Gutter Hill in Johnstown at around 6.15pm following reports of a crash.
  • It is understood that a female cyclist was in collision with another vehicle and the cyclist was badly injured.
  • The road was shut in both directions while the air ambulance based in Welshpool was dispatched to the scene.
  • The casualty was flown to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
  • The road remains closed in both directions while investigation work is carried out at the scene.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said they sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and air ambulance to the scene.

They said “a patient was flown to the Royal Stoke University Hospital”.

No details on their condition were available.
