Ministry of Human Resource Development will now be named Ministry of Education, President approved

President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the renaming of the Ministry of Human Resource Development as the Ministry of Education. According to the notification issued on Monday night, after the cabinet approval last month, the name has been changed under some important changes in the draft new education policy. The new education policy will come into effect from next year. The Ministry of Education was renamed HRD Ministry in 1985 during the tenure of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. PV Narasimha Rao became the first HRD minister.

Explain that on 29 July, the Union Cabinet approved the new education policy. It was also decided to change the name of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to the Ministry of Education. A committee headed by K Kasturirangan submitted the draft of the new education policy to the Ministry of Human Resource Development last year. Many important changes have been made in the new education policy, from school education to higher education. The Ministry had asked people to give their suggestions on this draft. More than two lakh suggestions were received on this draft.

After 34 years, major changes have been made in the country from schooling to higher education. The Prime Minister had also praised this new policy in his address.
