Ganesh Chaturthi 2020: Ganpati Murti Sthapana Muhurat and Vidhi

Ganesh Chaturthi 2020 will be observed on Saturday, August 22. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees install the idol of Lord Ganesha in their home and worship him for 10 days and on the 10th day or Anant Chaturdashi day immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha in the water bodies to bid farewell.

The idol of Lord Ganesha is installed on Chaturthi Tithi. This year, the Ganesha Chaturthi Tithi begins at 11:02 PM on August 21, 2020, and the Chaturthi Tithi ends at 07:57 PM on August 22, 2020.

While installing the idol of Lord Ganesha, make sure the idol should be facing either the East or the West direction. The devotees can buy and brought home the Lord Ganesha idol at any time but it should be installed on the puja platform only during the auspicious timing on the day of Ganesha Chaturthi.
Before starting the Ganesha Puja, take Sankalpa and do the Deep-Prajawalan process. After installing the Lord Ganesha idol, do the Avahana (invocation of Lord Ganesha) and Pratishthapan (installing Lord Ganesha into the statue). After that offer flower, vastr, fruits, water, dhup-deep to the Lord Ganesha followed by Lord Ganesha aarti.
