Sankhali: A team of Bicholim firemen on Monday retrieved the body of a 10-year-old boy from Ardhawada-Calangute from a laterite stone quarry situated at Nadora village in Bicholim taluka.
According to Bicholim fire brigade sources, they received information from the control room in Panaji about a body sighted in the laterite stone quarry.
Following the call, a team led by sub officer Mukund Gawandi and which included firemen Vishant Vaigankar, Lovshin Pille, Bharat Mhalshekar, Mahesh Naik and Gitesh Naik, under the guidance of SFO Shripad Gawas, rushed to the spot and located the body. The body was retrieved by fireman Vishant Vaigankar. Bicholim police team is investigating further.
