Rev parties were going on in Goa even during COVID-19, Minister revealed

Goa Minister and BJP MLA Michael Lobo said on Monday that there were rave parties in the state even during the Kovid-19 epidemic amid rising cases of Corona infection in the country. Michael said rave parties have been taking place in private villas in the state's coastal areas, where drugs are consumed.

He said that a day before, a similar party was busted by the police. Minister Michael Lobo, who represents the coastal Calangute constituency, was answering a question on the raid that killed the Vegatore on the night of 15 August.

Lobo said that such parties take place in the name of birthday celebrations or any other event where drugs are consumed. Lobo said that "guest houses, resorts are closed to the general public, but rave parties are also held during epidemics for birthday celebrations or some other functions." He said that the state government would take more strict measures to curb the menace.

Let us tell you that 23 people were arrested from the rave party in a villa on the night of 15 August. These include three foreign women. The Crime Branch of the Goa Police busted the rave party at a villa in Vagator located in North Goa and drugs worth about nine lakh rupees were also recovered.

According to SP (Crime Branch) Shobhit Saxena, the raids were carried out as part of a campaign to ensure public health and safety during the Kovid-19 epidemic. The SP also said that "deep searches were found in huge quantities of drugs like cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy pills and charas which would cost more than nine lakh rupees." Three foreign women are also among the accused.

The SP further stated in its statement that 'an FIR has been registered for endangering the safety of people and narcotics. Further action is on. '
