While you don't have to be a food expert, people with a passion for social media may have a better chance at securing the job.

'So do you love kicking back on the couch and getting your favourite food delivered? Do you find yourself sharing your opinions on social when nobody, literally nobody asked?' the ad reads.

The successful applicant will be asked to sample everything from gourmet meals to cheap and cheerful fast food options.

'Our critic must leave fancy at the door to get down and dirty with local meals touted to just hit the spot (whilst hand sanitising and maintaining social distance of course),' Menulog says.

The job offer is part of a new award category for Menulog's annual Restaurant Awards 2020.

Any reviews will be included under the category of the 'critic's choice award', joining the bevy of other titles including 'the people's choice awards', the 'Hyper-local awards' and the 'trending awards'.

All applicants have to do is fill out one simple form with a 30 second video review of their favourite restaurant for a chance to win.

The winner will be announced on September 14.
