CHENNAI: Chennai has only 18 containment zones, the Greater Chennai Corporation revealed on Tuesday.
A containment zone is an area that has been barricaded by the civic body disallowing entry and exit due to a cluster of Covid-19 cases.
There are two containment zones in Ambattur, one each in Anna Nagar and Kodambakkam, seven in Valasaravakkam, one in Alandur, two in Adyar, one in Perungudi and three in Shollinganallur zones of the city.
Most of them were notified only in the last one week.
