A day after the BJP accused the Facebook of removing 700 pages aligned to a nationalist narrative before 2019 polls, the social media group responded by saying it does not allow speech and content inciting violence.
On Sunday, the BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya had claimed that the BJP and the 'wider conservative ecosystem' was not aligned to Facebook as the latter removed 700 pages related to a nationalist narrative in the run-up to the 2019 general elections.
"We prohibit hate speech and content that incites violence and we enforce these policies globally without regard to anyone's political position or party affiliation. While we know there is more to do, we're making progress on enforcement and conduct regular audits of our process to ensure fairness and accuracy," Facebook''s spokesperson said on Monday.

Man trapped on tree for over 12 hours rescued by IAF chopper
A 43-year-old man was rescued by an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter on Monday after he was left clinging to a tree for over 12 hours amid overflowing water discharged from a dam in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district, a police official said.
Jitendra Kashyap apparently jumped into the weir (built to remove excess water) of Khutaghat dam on Sunday evening and got swept away in the strong current, Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told PTI.

SpiceJet on Monday said it will soon induct its first Airbus A340 cargo aircraft in its freighters fleet.
The induction of the first wide-body freighter will help the airline to primarily operate cargo flights on long-haul routes including to destinations in Europe, CIS and African region, SpiceJet said in a release.
With the latest induction, SpiceJet will have a dedicated fleet of nine freighter aircraft consisting of five Boeing 737s, three Bombardier Q-400s and one Airbus A340.

India continues to extend helping hand to Nepal to fight COVID-19 crisis
Soon after assuming office, newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, handed over 23 tons of essential medicines to Nepal including hydroxychloroquine, paracetamol amongst others, on April 23.
The Indian Ambassador handed over COVID-19 test kits to Nepal's Health Minister on May 17. The 30,000 PCR kits manufactured by India's molecular diagnostics company Mylab helped Nepal in accelerating its testing capacity against the virus.
Understanding the gravity of the situation and increased requirement of ventilators in Nepal, India sent life-saving ventilators to the Himalayan nation.
On August 9, Kwatra handed over 10 ventilators worth Rs 28 million to the Nepal Army.
