Pune: Class 10 students start receiving mark sheets from state board

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will start giving the mark sheets of class 10 

Pune: Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will start giving the mark sheets of class 10 from Monday (August 17). However, the state board has instructed schools not to force students to come to their offices for collecting mark sheets on a particular day only so as to avoid unnecessary crowding to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

The state board has instructed the divisional boards to set up more distribution centres this year considering the Covid-19 outbreak. These additional centres should be created after considering the number of schools attached to each distribution centre and by following safe social distancing norms at the centre.

The divisional board distributed the mark sheets to schools on Friday. The remaining schools will be handed over mark sheets on Monday. Also, from Monday, schools should give mark sheets to the students as per their convenience by following the rules of the government.

The state board has directed the divisional boards not to force the students to come to the school on a particular day to collect the mark sheets. It has asked the divisional board officials to plan in advance and prevent unnecessary crowding of parents and students in the schools.

The board had conducted examinations for Class 10 students in March month. About 15,84,264 students had registered for the examination, of which 15,75,103 actually appeared for the exam. About 15,01,105 did clear the exam. The board declared the results on July 29 this year. The pass percentage of girls was 96.91, while that of boys was 93.90 per cent.

Among various state divisions, Konkan secured the highest pass percentage of 98.77 per cent, while Aurangabad division recorded the lowest pass percentage of 92 per cent. Pass percentage for Pune division was 97.34 per cent, Kolhapur 97.64 per cent, Mumbai 96.72 per cent and for Amravati it was 95.14 per cent.
