Haryana: E-Lok Adalat to settle cases amid Covid-19

AMBALA/KURUKSHETRA: Amid the Covid-19 pandemic to save people from the infection of the virus, the Haryana district legal services authority (DLSA) is organizing e-Lok Adalat on August 29.
These e-Lok Adalats will be organized throughout the state on August 29.
Kurukshetra DLSA secretary-cum-chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Kavita Kamboj told that the pending cases of people would be settled in the e-Lok Adalat on August 29.
She said the cases to be taken up would be related to disputes of matrimonial, land, property, monetary, cheque bounce, criminal compoundable cases, insurance cases, revenue department cases, motor-vehicle accident-related matters and others.
CJM Kavita said first e-Lok Adalat would be organized in court complex, Kurukshetra on August 29 and the people will not have to visit the court rather they will be able to record their statements from the comfort of their homes via video conferencing.
“A link will be made available on the DLSA website and by downloading Microsoft Teams app; the people can give face to face statements”, said Kavita.
The officials said that people can connect with e-Lok Adalat in three ways; first, a person can click on the link from the District Court website and give his statement without coming to the court. Second, the people can give statements to present their side via video app through the lawyers and thirdly, the people can download the Microsoft Teams app, and the person can register his statement by sitting face to face at home.
The matter would be settled in the e-Lok Adalat to the satisfaction of both the parties and the court, told CJM Kavita.
In Ambala, DLSA secretary-cum-CJM Danish Gupta said that e-Lok Adalat will be conducted in Ambala and Naraingarh sub-division on August 29.
“Different batches of judicial officers for the duties of the e-Lok Adalats have been formed and the people can settle their pending cases digitally. We appeal to the people to settle their pending cases with mutual consensus”, added CJM Danish.
