Support the state during the pandemic, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals distributed cloth masks and sanitizers to over 1700 families residing in the Colvale village. The company’s outreach was supported by the local village administration which helped in identifying the families.
Appreciating Glenmark’ s outreach efforts to prevent the spread of COVID, Nityanand Kandolkar, sarpanch, gram panchayat, Colvale, said, “Glenmark has always found meaningful ways to support and this outreach is yet another step in this direction. We welcome these efforts and believe they will go a long way in curbing spread of infection in the village.”
In the last two months, Glenmark’s Goa plant supported the Karunalaya and Sant Gadge Maharaj Ashram old age homes in Pirna and Bicholim, the ASRO and Margaret Bosco Bal Sonvstha orphanages, and the underserved families in Guirim. The company also provided over 1500 migrant workers with food packets and water before they boarded special trains and headed home. This intervention was of great significance, as these groups had been identified as vulnerable populations and lack the resources and means to get basic necessities in the current situation. Glenmark also donated Rs 20 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Fund to fight the pandemic in the state.
Further, the Glenmark Foundation extended support to the police authorities working on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak by partnering with NGO RISE Infinity Foundation to distribute Candid dusting powder samples to alleviate common skin conditions amongst law enforcement officials.
