HYDERABAD: A man is missing while three others swam to safety as the vehicle in which they were travelling got washed away due to the floods in Siddipet district of Telangana. Due to a breach in a local tank, the Innova in which four people were travelling got washed away. Jangampalli Srinivas, 33, who was driving the vehicle has been missing since the mishap took place on Sunday night.
Municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao has asked Siddipet officials to do everything possible to trace out Srinivas who is from Sircilla constituency, which KTR represents in the assembly.
Jangampalli Srinivas, TRS village president of Thangallapalli village and his three friends who were travelling in the vehicle got washed away at Durgapalli in Siddipet. While three others swam to safety and clung on to trees until locals and police rescued them, the whereabouts of Srinivas were not known.
According to Siddipet police, Boddu Sridhar, 35 of Ramachandrapuram in Thangalapalli mandal, Juttu Suresh, 40 of Anantagiri village in Illanthakunta mandal of Sircilla district and Anantaram Srinivas, 30 of Baddipadaga in Nanunur mandal in Siddipet were rescued. Siddipet police commissioner Joel Davis of who visited the place of the mishap supervised the rescue of the three persons. The police using dragon lights reached the spot where the three of them were stuck and rescued them. Efforts have been continuing since 6 am on Monday to trace out Jangmaplli Srinivas.
