SP Balasubrahmanyam’s condition remains critical

CHENNAI: The health condition of playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam, who was admitted to MGM Healthcare in Chennai with Covid-19, continues to remain critical. He is being monitored by a team of experts.
A health bulletin from hospital assistant director Dr Anuradha Baskaran on Monday evening said the 74-year-old singer “continues to be on life support in the intensive care unit.”
“His condition remains to be critical. The expert medical team treating him is closely monitoring his vital parameters,” it said.
On Sunday, SPB was moved to a high sterile isolation unit on the sixth floor of the hospital and was responding well to treatment.
The singer was admitted to hospital on August 5. On Friday, the hospital announced that there was a setback in his health condition. On August 13, his condition deteriorated and based on the advice of the expert medical team attending on him, he has been put on life support in the ICU.
