• A terrifying high speed MotoGP crash took place at the Red Bull Ring in Austria

• Franco Morbidelli and Johan Zarco's crash sent the former's bike careering towards other riders 

• Morbidelli's bike narrowly missed nine-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi

Franco Morbidelli and Johan Zarco miraculously walked away from Sunday's MotoGP crash at the Red Bull Ring without major injury. 

Morbidelli's Petronas Yamaha made contact with Zarco's Avintia Ducati at Turn 2 resulting in a terrifying accident that saw Morbidelli's bike whisk passed nine-time MotoGP champion Rossi. 

Maverick Vinales also came perilously close to being hit by the flailing Yamaha. 

MotoGP posted a video of the incident on its Twitter account and it has received close to 200 000 views. 

When asked about the incident, Rossi said: "It was so scary, was terrifying. For me, now everybody is very aggressive but also from the small classes. I can understand because you play a lot."

"Morbidelli's bike nearly killed me," fumed Rossi. "Even Zarco's Ducati passed a few metres over me, it was a very dangerous moment," AFP reported. 

Morbidelli placed the blame squarely on Zarco's shoulders, telling Sky Sport Italia: "Zarco is almost a murderer."

Zarco braked at high speed section of the track where riders can easily reach 300km/h. The Frenchman moved his bike into a position that allowed no space for Morbidelli to pass him under braking. 

"Braking like this at 300km/h means having little love for yourself or those you are racing against," Morbidelli said. 

South Africa's Brad Binder finished fourth in the race after starting in 17th place, Andrea Dovizioso won the race for Ducati.
