Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat has passed away in Hyderabad. He was unwell and undergoing treatment at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. The filmmaker was 50 and was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. After fighting for his life, Kamat breathed his last on Monday. The news was confirmed by actor Riteish Deshmukh on his Twitter page.
Sharing an image of him hugging the director, Riteish shared, "I will miss you my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace."

Not only a director but Nishikant has also acted in a few movies too namely Hava Aney Dey, Saatchya Aat Gharat, 404 Error Not Found, Rocky Handsome, Fugay, Daddy, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi.
While his popular movies as a director include Dombivali Fast, Evano Oruvan, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Lai Bhaari, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome and Madaari.
Talking about Drishyam, it became a super hit and was the remake of Malayalam film of the same name. Talking about the same, Kamat had said, "I looked at this film purely in terms of a script. I didn't look at it as something which was made before and that I had to replicate. There's a director's perspective on how you make the film, how you edit it and how you present it and I did it my way."
