RIP Nishikant Kamat: Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh express shock over 'Drishyam' director's untimely demise

After news about Nishikant Kamat's passing away broke, various celebrities like Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter to share condolences

Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat is no more. He passed away at the age of 50 after being diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. Actor Riteish Deshmukh broke the news on Twitter. Sharing an image of him hugging the director, Riteish shared, "I will miss you my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace."

Soon after, Nishikant's 'Drishyam' actor Ajay Devgn also condoled the death of the director. Stating his relationship with Nishikant was an association which he cherished, Ajay tweeted, "My equation with Nishikant was not just about Drishyam, a film which he directed with Tabu and me. It was an association that I cherished. He was bright; ever-smiling. He has gone too soon. RIP Nishikant."

Other actors like Randeep Hooda, Soha Ali Khan and 'Force' actor Genelia D'Souza also expressed shock over Nishikant's untimely demise.

Nishikant's directorial include Dombivali Fast, Evano Oruvan, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Lai Bhaari, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome and Madaari. He has acted in several movies too namely Hava Aney Dey, Saatchya Aat Gharat, 404 Error Not Found, Rocky Handsome, Fugay, Daddy, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi.

Not only a director but Nishikant has also acted in a few movies too namely Hava Aney Dey, Saatchya Aat Gharat, 404 Error Not Found, Rocky Handsome, Fugay, Daddy, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi.

Nishikant has remade several South movies in Hindi which include Force and Drishyam. While he remade Dombivali Fast in Tamil as Evano Oruvan.

As per filmmaker Milap Zaveri, Nishikant Kamat was all set to direct a film titled Sanak starring Abhishek Bachchan in the leading role.
